I threw a graduation party for Hunter on Saturday with the help of my dear friends Helen and Phil. Everything went perfectly with the exception of the party goers that were late evacuating the pavilion and left it a mess. We had dear friends and family over for a BBQ and swimming. Hunter misses his extended family, The Sanchez family, who were able to make it and in turn made Hunter's whole night. We love them :) Thank you all for loving my little boy so much! I don't know what we would do without all of you. And a very special thank you to Helen, to which this would not have been possible, and for being such a wonderful friend and adopted grandma to Hunter we love you and Phil so much. And I didn't forget Phil the best BBQ'r in the world! Thank you, thank you, thank you....

Hunter got a SMART CAR
Last Week of school fun. this is fun week at Little Learners. Yesterday was "Drive in Movie" day. We had to make a car for Hunter, and he wanted a "Red" race car with the number one on the side. This is what we came up with. It gets great gas mileage and is perfect for those spur of the moment drives around the house. The kids watched the Princess and the Frog, ate popcorn in their cars and celebrated summer birthday's. Don't you wish sometimes that you could go back to being a kid for a day? Oh and just in case you were wondering what I did yesterday, I went to stinky work there were no movies, I didn't get to play in a red race car, and the highlight of the day was.... oh wait, I was at work, never mind. Hunter thought his car was the best but he did have one complaint. "Mommy, you spelled my name wrong! You need to fix that, or no one will know who's car this is"! I told him that is how they spell things on license plates... He didn't buy it.
Wheeler Farm Field Trip
Okay, so we went on Hunter's last field trip of the year to wheeler farm. I know that everything we do is meaning full, but I just didn't think it was very noteworthy until I came across this picture.
It was a bad day from the very beginning. First of all Hunter was sick the day the school sent the times that the classes were to meet, so I just figured they have begun at 9:00 a.m. for all of the past trips why should this one be different. We show up NO ONE AROUND! I go into the office and they just had a block of times and so I guessed his would be the second class through after the 3 year olds... I had my sister Jenny with me and her two boys so we wandered around the farm for a bit. Right off Hunter slipped on some stairs in the play house and scratched up his entire back and little touchy. We hiked on some trails and fed the ducks. We decided to grab some lunch before his class showed up. Ooopps, I guessed the wrong time, of course Hunter's class went first. But we joined his teachers with another class and we went through the (not exactly child appropriate) tour and the best part of the entire farm is the tractor ride, well just as it was our turn Hunter was tripped and gashed his knee and leg open... Ouy vey, blood and screaming... Not exactly a thrilling excursion. But how cute is this picture? taken before the permanently scared left leg and knee?

Graduation 2010
Congratulations Graduate!
Hunter has completed his first school experience. Last week was the year end program and graduation. I finally got to watch Hunter perform all of the songs that he has been singing in the car and around the house. Their theme was BROADWAY and for those of you who know me well know that I am a theatre geek, so this was very exciting for me. I was blown away by what this fabulous school and remarkable teachers instill in these kids. I was watching my five year old sing songs complete with sign language. I loved it, every second. What I don't love my CAMERA. I swear that it know the second I walk into his school. It will not take a clear picture! Hunter got the DAD OF THE YEAR for taking all of the kids under his wing and making sure they always felt like they had a friend. Oh and I also think that it might of been code for Tattle Tale trying to be the "dad". All in all it was a wonderful moment for me and very exciting for Hunter. Although Monday morning he wasn't quite sure why he still had to go to school for one more week?
I'm so proud of you bug, I love you and look forward to all of your future accomplishments.

Time to relax and reflect...
Ode to my father....
My dad retired in April of this year and I have to tell you, I can't think of a person more deserving. My dad has worked hard all of his life supporting his family. I can only think of a handful of times when he took a vacation day or stayed home sick, he just didn't. His and my mom's hard work provided all of us with a very strong family and a very happy childhood.
It's no secret that I am a daddy's girl and so when he retired I was a little worried if he could manage it, and after that fear subsided I wanted to plan a BIG surprise bash for him.
So the wheels started turning and this is what we came up with... (by the way I didn't get any photo's of the family but I know some of the kids did and I will try to hijack their photo's)
We had ... Yard games, food catered in, and watched a movie outside on the side of the house complete with concession's, and the notion to roast marshmallows and make s'mors, which we ran out of time before we could do that... (I had one upset boy because he couldn't have a camp fire.)
I love you so much dad. thank you for your many sacrifices and endless love and support.
Surprise!
