Becoming Vader... a transformation to the Dark Side

This was Hunter opening up his package when it arrived...  Inside, his long awaited Darth Vader costume.  Everything is alright with the world and the dark side.

AUTUMN IS IN THE AIR

2 Weekends ago we began our Fall festivities.  We made Carmel Apples, Popcorn Balls, Carmel Sauce and our annual trip to the Pumpkin Patch!  We had a very exciting time, full of activities.  We even snuck in a trip to Grandma's for a visit and to bring her some of our baked goods, while Daddy got her house winterized ( what a good Daddy :))

Early morning cereal...  Hunter couldn't wait to get started.

 Ready.... Set....

 Go!!!

EPIC FAIL!!!  My Mom and my Nana kept most of their recipes in their heads, so I have been desperately searching for a recipe that would come close to theirs.  This one did not!  I should have known that it wasn't going to work when it called for white sugar!  Oh well, we'll try again.

these beauties on the other hand....  OH MY GOODNESS!  They were heaven.

We ran into Brinlee at the Pumpkin Patch.  Hunter was excited to have a little friend to get covered in dirt with.

On the tractor ride to the patch.

Hunter looking for the biggest pumpkin he could find.

They did pretty good.

I love my bug.

~Autumn~

Is truly my favorite time of the year.  It's the season of romance, stimulating all of your senses with magical scents, bright colors, crisp air, rustling leaves and the yummiest baked goods...

Hunter and I have always loved to bake together.  And although I haven't begun my weekends of flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and sugar covered kitchens, I am so excited to start.

Pumpkin Patch
Carmel Apples
 Popcorn Balls
and
Homemade Apple Cider
These are our weekend plans, I hope yours is filled with happiness and romance, or whatever kind of wonderful this season is to you...

Happy Autumn!

1st day of school

Here's to all things "New"
New home
New school
New friends
New adventures
New beginnings!

Hunter has been such a trooper handling all of the changes he has had to go through this year so far.  He is just AWSOME!  there is no other word for it.  He has met every new experience with courage and an open mind.  And starting a brand new school year at a brand new school was no different.  He went right in there like he'd known everyone forever.  I am not sure I would have adjusted so well at his age.

As far as new experiences for me this 1st day of school...  I was met with a plethera of "NO's"

No, don't kiss me at school
No, don't give me a hug in front of my class
No, don't take a picture of me in the school
No, do not follow me into my class room
"Just be cool Mom"

At least I wasn't the mother walking out of class shaking her head saying "oh no, I shouldn't have kissed him goodbye.  He is going to be so mad at me when I pick him up".

Summer time...

Nothing says summer like two boys up a tree!

With moving, and soooooooo much work to do around the house and yard, I can't say that we had the most exciting summer of all time, but Hunter didn't miss out any, just the crazy camera Mom.  Hunter was in a Summer Day Camp and got to go to the water slides, the Fun Center, Splash Pad, library, and many, many other field trips all summer long!  He had so much fun.  Me, I had to work... Boo!

Last day of 1st grade!

We made it through another year of school!
I am so blessed to watch my boy grow and learn so many new things every day.  He learned and experienced so many things this year I 'm surprised I was able to keep up!  Thanks so much to all of the teachers and staff at American Heritage, especially Mrs. Segbefia and Mrs. Bailey for making the year so much fun.  It is truly a wonderful school, and we are sure going to miss you.

The last day Hunter had to wear his uniform...

The last day of 1st grade....

Yay!
We are so proud of you bug...

The 2011-2012 End of Year Awards Ceremony

I received a "Top Secret" email from Hunter's Principal stating that my student earned an award and that his Parents were invited to the Awards Ceremony that week.  Hunter's Dad and i showed up in secret to watch as Hunter was surprised by not receiving one but Two awards for the year.  He received an award and medal for Humanitarian and Perfect Attendance.  He was so shocked to have his name called and even more surprised to see Mom and Dad was there the whole time.  We are so proud of our little man, and all he has accomplished!  Well done sweet boy.

Field Trip to the Zoo 2012

I was invited to join Hunter's class at their year end field trip.  We had so much fun, the school really made it an exciting trip to the zoo.  we had a scavenger hunt for buttons (redeemable for a prize at the end of the day), a picnic lunch, and a very quiet, sleepy bus ride back to school.  Our group had a blast! What a great way to end the school year.  I think even the middle school, and high school kids had a great time.  Oh and the best part of the trip, the kids were able to break dress code and wear hats!

Mothers Day 2012

This is the surprise I woke up to on Mother's day...  My baby even made me breakfast.  It was the most delicious bowl of Honey Nut Cheerio's I have ever had...    My boys are so sweet, I just love 'em.

Catching up on my Blog....  We have had the busiest year ever!!!!  Hunter and I moved and began a brand new adventure!  By the way just for the record MOVING IS THE WORST!  It seemed like it took forever.  But we are all settled now and doing very well.  Here is what you've missed...
For their Spring production, Hunter's 1st grade class put on the play, Peter Rabbit.  The children did such a great job memorizing their lines I was so proud.
