Field Trip to the Zoo 2012

I was invited to join Hunter's class at their year end field trip.  We had so much fun, the school really made it an exciting trip to the zoo.  we had a scavenger hunt for buttons (redeemable for a prize at the end of the day), a picnic lunch, and a very quiet, sleepy bus ride back to school.  Our group had a blast! What a great way to end the school year.  I think even the middle school, and high school kids had a great time.  Oh and the best part of the trip, the kids were able to break dress code and wear hats!

Catching up on my Blog....  We have had the busiest year ever!!!!  Hunter and I moved and began a brand new adventure!  By the way just for the record MOVING IS THE WORST!  It seemed like it took forever.  But we are all settled now and doing very well.  Here is what you've missed...
For their Spring production, Hunter's 1st grade class put on the play, Peter Rabbit.  The children did such a great job memorizing their lines I was so proud.

EaSteR 2012

~EaStEr 2012~

We had a very fun Easter weekend this year.  There was a lot of new and different experiences, and although I am such a romantic when it comes to tradition, I had to let go a little and accept some changes and to my surprise it turned out very nice.

Speaking of tradition, there were a few that I absolutely ached over not doing this year...  so to my family, I missed you all incredibly! little one's we will make sure to have a pinata next year, I promise!

And Helen and Phil....  Hunter and I would be lost without your continued love and support.  We missed you terribly, and we will make it up soon!!!  We don't love you "like" you are family, we love you because you ARE family!

Spring Break 2012

It's been a minute....  Let me catch you up!

We've been m.i.a. for very good reasons, here is what we've been up to...

~Spring Break~
Hunter was out of school for a week and a half so we found somethings to occupy the time... ROAD TRIP!

We put in a lot of car time traveling through Utah and Colorado.  Hunter did amazing and kept busy with tons of games, movies, coloring books and other various activities.  I wish I had gotten a picture of the activity center I set up for him, it was pretty genius
We saw tons of neat places and visited with wonderful friends and family.

Such a fun family trip!

St. Patricks Day... LUCKY to be Hunter's Mom.

So freaky camera mom fails again!  I didn't get pictures of some of the many fabulous St. Paddy's day fun, and I am a little bummed :(

Here is how we celebrated...
On Friday night we built our Leprechaun trap.  Hunter gathered some things that he thought would entice the tricky little leprechauns to the trap.  Gold coins and Lucky Charm marshmallows :)  I thought it was a brilliant idea, such a little smarty pants.
Unfortunately we didn't catch the sneaky little buggers, but they left Hunter a mug full of green treats (not pictured, Bah)!  We had a breakfast of green food.  Green eggs and ham (actually it was turkey bacon, but shhhh, Hunter doesn't know the difference :)) and green milk.  While I was making breakfast Hunter searched for the "trick" the leprechaun's played on him...  They went potty in our toilet and it was GREEN!!!  Okay, so that was another "Fail" on my part.  I always put the little bleach tablets in my toilet tank and didn't even think about it... but we all know Yellow + Blue make GREEN but the bleach removed the yellow in the dye so it was bright BLUE!  Try explaining that to a 7 year old....

The BEST NEIGHBOR BOY in the whole world (Matthew) was celebrating his birthday on Saturday as well, so we got Hunter Tatted up with St. Paddy's day tattoos, his green St Paddy's day shirt, and of course we sprayed his hair green (NO PIC...  Dang it).  He had a great time at the party and like all the kiddo's, didn't want to leave :(  That night I had one last surprise to celebrate the day of green....  Glow Sticks in the bathtub.  Oh my, you would have thought I had taken him to Disneyland...  So much fun!

Happy Birthday Matthew Lence...  We just luv ya!

Hunter appreciates his teacher

We have had such good luck with schools.

Hunter went to Little Learners Academy for Pre-School and Kindergarten and let me tell you, I would recommend LLA to ANYONE who is looking for an amazing first school experience for their child.  Miss Launa (Director/Owner) is one of the best people I have ever met.  Inside and out!  She LOVES your child as if they were her own.  An this year...  Oh we absolutely love, love, love the teachers and staff at American Heritage.  I couldn't have asked for a better school.  And Hunter's teacher this year is no exception, she is so kind, loving, fun and soooo patient...

Mrs. Segbefia we ADORE you!
