Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Mommy's that I know!
Mother's Day was, well interesting... but an adventure, and very special.
Hunter surprised me with a "Very Important Present" however he had to go potty SO bad that he didn't have time to wait for me to open it, he had to do open it himself. And behold it was a very important present. He made a plaster hand print. I thought that I would have to wait a few more years to get one of those but his sitter (Dulce) made these with the kids... Thank you Dulce! It truly is precious. Hunter even painted his name on the back (H). He was very proud of his work.
Hunter took a picture, and not a very flattering one, of his "very special Mommy"...
Hunter also picked me out a Mommy bracelet. This was also such a cute moment. We were at the store and Hunter came up to me with something behind his back and asked if he could have some dollars to buy something for me for Mother's Day. I gave him some money and he paid for it, and wrapped it all by himself. I wasn't able to get a picture of what it looked like wrapped because Hunter had to unwrap this too, but he used so much tape I wasn't sure if he was going to be able to open it... oh ye of little faith... He did just fine!
And now the exhausting conclusion to this Mother's Day 2009...
I heard on the radio that it was Mommy & me at the zoo. Well that sounds like a great idea! not so much... By the time I rounded up the troops (sister's and their families) it was kind of late, and it turns out that I missed most of the advertisement for this wonderful day at the zoo. Turns out a radio station had a coupon to get Mom's in for 98 cents. Super!!! So EVERY MOTHER IN THE FREE WORLD WAS THERE! Holy Moley... No parking for miles and I just about had a break down so I called the girls and told them to forget it. Que the crying children... So we met up at This is the Place. So kids crying, parents trying desperately to think of something else to do on a Sunday, and Hunter running away because this isn't fair, Que the Train... Yay!!! So we went on a fun little train ride. Kids calm, and a little chilly, but calm and smiling!!!
Hunter running away...
Hunter coming back (from running away) to listen to mom's alternative to the zoo. Thank goodness I would have missed him terribly....
Awww... look at those happy faces...
Doo Doo and Tan Tan
Okay so we did make it to the zoo after all (and yes there was still 8 million people there) has anyone ever had to wait in line to go through the monkey habitat? Well, we did, that is how crazy it was. But everything was fine Hunter got ice cream, and he got to see the alligators, or were the crocodiles?, regardless he was one happy, tired boy and I got a few more precious memories.
Thanks girls for putting up with Hunter's grumpy mom.... Happy Mother's Day!
