We had a very exciting weekend. Saturday was my nephew, Wyatte's, first pre-season football game. They got stomped but he played so well for his first ever game. I am so proud of him. We went home to rest for a bit so we pulled out the only "projects" that I had, and we spent a few hours making cute little Christmas crafts. After that we met the cousins at Yogurtland for some frozen yogurt creations, watched the kids play at the Jordan landing play ground, then it was off to Aunt Jenny's for tacos, a bonfire, and s'mores. We had a great time. On Sunday we went to see Nanny McPhee Returns with Merissa and Aunt Manda. we stopped at Michael's to get a craft for the kids, had "peekza" and Amanda and I watched The Backup Plan.
Thank you Aunties and cousins for a fun weekend...

New Friends & Roller Skates
Hunter rediscovered his new roller skates and hasn't wanted to stop since.
This is the problem that I have run into with his birthday being in December. He (and I) forget that he gets things that he can't use until summer.
So he was rooting around in his closet the other day, which he NEVER does because I only keep his clothes, shoes, board games and real big toys (Thomas Train set, and remote control dinosaur Spike) in there. Well, he saw them and wanted to try them out right then. So we got his gear on and we were off. He met our new neighbor Kirk, and they spent a few hours rollerskating, eating fruit snacks, and otter pops.
Despite a few falls, a sore shoulder, and a sore touche, Hunter had such a great time we had to go back out that evening and do it again.
Getting brave enough to roll down the hill...

Weekend Fun!
Hunter and I had a pretty relaxed weekend. We spent all weekend together, just he and I. Every time we have time spent like this, I fall in love with him all over again. Just listening to him talk, sing, ask questions, answer questions, and use his imagination. I can't help but get happy and sad all at the same time. It won't last forever I remind myself. Put down the laundry and steal another moment with this perfect little person, while you still can, and before there are boundaries. So we played with sparklers on Friday night, we swam, and swam and played outside, and played with play dough on Saturday, and on Sunday we got creative and we painted. Hunter painted a birdhouse, and I set out to finished what I started last year, my resin Nutcrackers. I finished one, and I am almost half way finished with the second one (Hunter's favorite). Just a reminder to all you parents to remember to put down the laundry, leave the dishes in the dishwasher and bare witness to your children being children... The laundry and the dishes will be there tomorrow, were only guaranteed this moment.
